ETS in Denver, Colorado - Partial Refund ***

Will only return 1/2 the registration fee (in 6-12 weeks) so the remainder of my fee is paying employees for slow, awful service. They are essentially robbing broke college students who are attempting to better their future. They have monopolized the field and there is nothing I can do to get my full refund, but I am at a loss for words on how unjust this policy is. The "customer service" manager, Ebony, made things much worse by REFUSING to explain the policy. I have called, emailed, and wrote a letter. I know nothing will be done, and they most likely laugh at the hate-mail. *** them.

ETS: Making money off working college students

Details
I registered to take the GRE, showed up on my test date, and was told the test center was closed. The four other test takers and I were furious. The GRE is a stressful test, and we had prepared emotionally and mentally for the 5 hour test. Additionally, half of us had program application deadlines within the month. We were told it was an error on the part of Prometric and ETS. They were supposed to call us the following business day to resolve the issue, and they never did. I had to call ETS, and they did NOTHING to try to make up for their mistakes. They said they would waive the rescheduling fee (well, that should be a given), or they could not reschedule the test and reimburse me (oh sure, I've suddenly decided to not apply to my PhD program; I was just taking the test for fun [sarcasm]). ETS and Prometric continually blamed the other program. Prometric had me calling ETS, and ETS had me calling Prometric. It's an incredibly unprofessional business.

I had the same problem with ETS telling me to call Prometric and Prometric telling me to call ETS. They also used "start of business," "close of business" arguments to justify why my "case"/"ticket" could not be resolved before their offices closed for the winter holiday break. I feel like the companies use these strategies to avoid responsibility for their errors.
