I was scheduled for 12.30 for my Praxis, and I showed up at the testing Center at 11.55 A.M. When I got there, the young lady at the desk asked for my admission ticket and my I.D, which I provided.

Then, after I was done with the form to fill out, that's when I was told to provide my green card or passport because I am not a US citizen. I was shocked that she even asked me for my immigration status when clearly my test is paid for and my state driver license is valid. I was given the option to go home to get my green card, but I was also told to make sure that I am back exactly at 1 P.M if not I won't be allowed in the testing center. Now imagine, I live 20-25 minutes away from the Center, I managed to make it back at 1.15 P.M and I was denied to test.

When I called the customer care, they told me "Sorry Sir, you have forfeited your right to test today, therefore you have to pay $150 to reschedule." It is a real SCAM and I think that they should be investigated for their fraudulent language on the admission ticket which they sent my via e-mail upon my payment for the test. There is nowhere on that admission ticket it says to bring passport or green card if you are not a US citizen, all the admission ticket says is, print this ticket, bring it with you along with your valid identification.

What a SCAM! They need to be investigated and I won't stop until that happens.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $150.

ETS Cons: Lack of empathy.

Location: College Park, Maryland

Let the poor guy take the test already. At no extra charge. Come on already.

I had the same experience on Friday. I just found this board because I trying to research if this had happened to anyone as I was pretty sure it had.

I was threw out of the center with the words, " you have not proved citizenship, you need to get out, have a good day!" And the door slammed in my face. I did not even have a chance to react. I was in such shock. I had presented my valid drivers license and it so happen I had my green card in wallet so I presented it.

She said I need your passport. I responded that I was not aware I had to bring it. It was at this time I was kicked out.

She got from her seat, went to the door, held it open and in a rude, angry voice told me to leave. After calling ets and reporting the incident, I was told I am a no show and will have to register again and pay as my payment is forfeited. This is crazy!

I had exactly same experience as you. That is non-sense, they didn't write down to bring passport or green card in the admission ticket.

In addition to that, they don't even give a chance to reschedule a test and just take the money.

This is ripoff and I feel like they are using non-citizenship students as the method of earning the money through this kind of instances.

We submit green card and bank statement in order to get state ID. That is state ID already proved the ID is valid and it's hard to believe they don't take state ID for green card holder.

Same thing! I registered and the website messed up my name.

When I came to the testing center, they asked for my ID, and then my passport.

I'm a citizen as of 2010, but to think that they would need my passport is very discriminating. The employee also was very rude, spoke to me in a very slow manner, and kept humiliating me in front of the other test takers.

Did you ever explore true possibility of a lawsuit? This happened to me and as far as I know, even police officers don't have a right to ask for immigration status. I'd love to join in a class action lawsuit but I can't seem to find any information for joining one.

The EXACT thing just happened to me!!!! Word for word.

Except I live 45 mins from the test site and wouldn't have made it back. Talked to supervisor at praxis and she didn't care. I had even rescheduled twice due to death in the family. Their policy?

Show proof of

death and money is only refunded if it impacted the test day. If you have time to reschedule, they still make you pay the $40. So I'm out a total of $200. Supervisor on the phone was rude, spoke over me and read the "id policy" word for word while I asked her to stop because I was talking about fees.

She ignores me, talked over and kept going. Can you tell me if you progressed any further? This is fraud. I'm total OCD and triple check everything I read, especially for exams.

I didn't see anywhere about needing additional ID if you are only a permanent resident. And I've taken my teaching license exam with them 5 years ago and there was no question of my citizenship.

Pls email me at sabrinatutti at yahoo dot com. I'm dead serious about doing something about this.

If you want to actually do something see your state representative office manager. Explain what happened.

Then go see the secretary of the Dept Of Education at the capital. I'm serious. Tell her you saw your statevrepresentstive and give her the name of the (your) elected representative office. Even if you didn't for for the representative...

they will help you. They love this stuff.

They will help you.Half theirvtime is solving these kinds of problems.Let them DO THEIR JOB.I promise ... it works.

I had a similar experience. I think it's absolutely crazy and unfair.
